Class Offerings

Whether you want to just take classes or you want to take the spotlight on stage, we have the class for you.  We offer recreational and competitive classes for all levels, ages, and styles.  We also offer three unique seasons:  "Fall in Love with Dance" Fall/Spring program, "Spring Fever" Spring/Winter program, and "Summer of Dance" Summer program.  Plus, we offer our unique "DanceDate" Workshops and Summer Camps.


All of our Dance, ACRO Gymnastics, and Fitness classes are taught by professional instructors with personal experience in the performing arts, and with a dedication towards bringing out the best progression and improvement in each of our students.

Fall/Spring

Fall/Spring classes will be offered in  10 to 30 week sessions, beginning in September and running through May.  Classes taken for 30 weeks will participate in our annual Recital in May.  Classes taken for 10 to 15 weeks are Non-Recital Classes.  However, the dancers will have the opportunity to showcase what they have learned on the last day of class.

Spring classes will be offered in 10 to 15 week sessions, beginning in January and running through May,  These are Non-Recital Classes, but students will have the opportunity to showcase what they learned on the last day of their class.

Summer classes will be offered in 5 week sessions, from June through July. Sarah's Dance Academy also offers a variety of Summer Day/Week Camps which run from June through August for all ages and skill levels.

Class Descriptions

Combination Class  /  60 minutes  /  Ages 3 to 18

This class meets for 60 minutes per week for 30 weeks.  This class is for ages 3 to 18.  Combination Classes for students ages 3 to 6 will consist of 30 minutes of Tap and Pre-Ballet or Pom-Pon/Jazz, and Hip Hop; for ages 7 and above, 30 minutes of Pom-Pon or Jazz, and 30 minutes of Hip-Hop or Lyrical.  This is a Recital Class.

Fairy Tale Dance   /  40 minutes  /  Ages 3 to 6

This class is offered in the Fall (September) and Spring/Winter (January) seasons.  This class is offered in 10-week segments. During the initial week a fairy tale story is read to them, and then students learn Pre-Ballet dance movements with music pertaining to the story.  The following week the students put on costumes over their leotard/tights and then perform their routine.  This class is an excellent dance class for beginning little dancers.   It is a fun and rewarding experience for the children to dress up and perform.  The Fairy Tale costumes are provided for each student at each performance. 

Two-Year-Old Movement Class  /  30 minutes  /  Age 2

This is a Trimester class and will be offered in 10-week segments meeting for 30 minutes each week.  A parent attends this class with their child.  This fast-paced, fun-filled class and introduces your child to easy dance movements while giving students the opportunity to be a part of a dance class with the help of Mom or Dad.

Ballet I, II, III, IV  /  60-90 minutes  /  Ages 6 and above

Classical Ballet is fundamental for all dance classes.   Ballet teaches dancers proper technique, posture, and terminology. Students are grouped together by skill level and experience. 


Pointe and Pre-Pointe  /  30-60 minutes  /  Instructor Approval 

This class is only open to dancers who have instructor approval.  Pre-Pointe and Pointe are similar to a regular ballet class in terms of focus and discipline.  The difference, however, is that students wear Pointe shoes (ballet shoes with a hard, full-soled shank and a boxed toe) so that the ballerina may go fully onto Pointe while in releve.  This class is for the more advanced ballet dancer and requires an additional Ballet Class and Ballet Technique Class

Gymnastics ACRO for Dance  / 45 minutes  /  Ages 3 and above

This class develops courage, strength, stamina, coordination, flexibility, and jumping abilities.  Gymnastics ACRO for Dance unites power and poise with grace and beauty to create an intriguing Dance.  Classes offered from levels I through IV.  Students are placed in a class according to their skill level.  This is a Recital Class.

Private Lessons  /  30-60 minutes  /  Ages 3 and above

Private Lessons will be offered by semester and can be taken in 30 or 60-minute lessons.  You may choose from one of the following types of dance: Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Ballet, Pointe, Pom, Hip-Hop, and Technique.  If taken both semesters, the student will perform in the Recital

Technique Leaps and Turns  /  40 minutes  /  Ages 5 and above

Technique Leaps and Turns is a class is geared to build the dancer’s flexibility and skills, such as turns, leaps, and jumps, while perfecting skills and building their core, arms, shoulders, and legs.  This is a must class for dancers that want to advance to the next level in dance, or for those dancers with the goal of making one of our Competitive Troupe Teams and/or their High School Dance Team. 


Conditioning  / 40 minutes / Ages 5 and above

Conditioning class provides a regimen of exercise for the development of a dancer’s endurance, strength, flexibility and coordination. 


Adult Ballroom and Latin  /  45 minutes  /  Ages 18 and above

Adult Ballroom and Latin will be offered by semester and meets for 45 minutes per week.  Classes will be offered in Ballroom Dance consisting of Waltz and Swing plus the Latin Dances of Tango and Rumba.  No partner, no worries, we will partner you with someone for the class.
